Time to wake up!😀 September has ended!

The Oasis community saw so much accomplished in a short amount of time during the past month to finish the third quarter of 2023. 

September was a period of exciting growth and progress throughout all areas of the ecosystem, and it’s all included in this monthly recap. From key integrations that make Web3 onboarding easier to bringing Oasis privacy frameworks to new ecosystems on other networks, every aspect of Oasis was improved in September.

Community Activities

The Oasis community is thrilled to launch a brand new ambassador program for the global network of privacy enthusiasts working to advance the mission of the Oasis Network. Called Oasis Sentinels, this program marks a new era for the community. Read all about it here. 

Did you miss Smartcon 2023? Oasis was in Barcelona, and we recorded the developer workshop focused on building confidential dApps on Oasis Network. Watch the full video here.

Engineering and Product Update

How can we make smart contracts smarter? This was the focus of a presentation by Harry Roberts, technical product manager at Oasis, during Smartcon 2023. You can catch all the highlights and key ideas from his presentation in this thread! 

Working with the business development team, Oasis engineers achieved multiple key partnerships and integrations last month. Active members of the Oasis community have seen these updates shared in the community channels when they were first announced. But here’s a short rundown of each important milestone! 

• Ocean Protocol chose Oasis to support the privacy needed for its Predictoor launch. 

• Transak integrated Oasis for simpler and easier onboarding to Web3 for newcomers. 

• Oraichain announced their plans to bring Oasis privacy to the Cosmos ecosystem. 

In addition to multiple live events shared in the previous section of this letter, engineers and creators at the Oasis Foundation have been actively sharing their thoughts on key issues facing Web3. You can read all about them on the Oasis blog, including how Oasis protects against MEV, the future of account abstraction in crypto, and several focus areas for builders in the Oasis ecosystem. 

The Privacy4Web3 hackathon ends on October 4! Oasis hackers around the world have been hard at work building creative ideas for improving the Oasis ecosystem. We’re excited to finish receiving submissions, begin judging final projects, and then announce the winners!

Ecosystem Project Updates

SYNTHR announced their plans to launch synthetic assets within the Oasis ecosystem. More information about this exciting project is coming later this month, so stay tuned! 

illumineX received a grant from the Oasis Foundation to build the first DEX on Sapphire. 

Slime is building a horse race betting game on Oasis as part of the P4W3 hackathon! 

Empyreal authored an in-depth Twitter thread that explains their plans for creating a decentralized, secure way to pass blockchain state information from other networks (e.g., Ethereum, Arbitrum, Binance Chain) to Oasis Sapphire. It’s worth a read!
